POLICE RESCUES 28 ABDUCTED- GIRLS IN KATSINA                                                                                                                 03-04-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                         A combined team of police and other security operatives have rescued the 28 girls abducted from Kasai village in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the state Police command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, notes that all the girls were rescued unhurt.

The bandits had ambushed the children aged between eight and fifteen at the outskirts of the village where they went to fetch firewood to take home for cooking.

The statement says upon receipt of the report of the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar, deployed operatives to the forest with marching orders to rescue the children unhurt.

It explains that the bandits succumbed to increased pressure by the police and subsequently released the victims who are now “safe and sound”.

“The collaborative effort of the dedicated rescue team, in conjunction with the strategic approach taken by the command, resulted in the release of all the abducted victims.

“The abductors, following the escalation of pressure and the concerted actions of the command in collaboration with all relevant security stakeholders in the state, ultimately released all the victims.

“This success is a testament to the perseverance and commitment of the command as well as everyone involved in the operation.

“Efforts to ensure the safety and security of the community and the state will continue unabated”, the statement notes.
