FRSC DEPLOYS 970 PERSONNEL, EQUIPMENT FOR EID-EL-FITRI OPERATIONS IN KWARA STATE                                                                          08-04-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC) Kwara state Command has deployed Nine Hundred and Seventy Personnel (970) to ensure a hitch free Eid-el Fitr celebrations in the State.

In a statement the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Stephen Dawulung said the aim of the operation was meant to contain the surge in road traffic flow during the Sallah celebrations.

The statement explained that the command has deployed Forty two (42) patrol vehicles, two(2) power bikes, Four (4) Ambulances, Four (4) medium Private tow trucks and One 70 ton tow-truck which will be stationed along all major highways and other gridlock prone spots within the State.

It said in addition to Enforcement, the special operations will also focus on the intensification of purposeful public enlightenment, prompt removal of obstructions, traffic control as well as prompt response to Road traffic crashes.

The statement noted that a twenty four hours ( 24 hour) rescue teams are being stationed at major locations in the State.

The statement appealed to motorists to avoid risks that could expose them to Road Traffic crashes such as speed, overloading, Route Violation, Driving with worn-out tyres, and night journeys.
