GOVERNOR YUSUF VOWS TO ADDRESS POLITICAL THUGGERY, ECONOMIC CHALLENGES 12-04-24
By Sadiq Aminu Governor Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has reaffirmed the determination of his administration in curtailing the menace of political thuggery and other related social vices in the state.
The Governor States this when he received the Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero who paid Sallah Homage to the Governor at Government House Kano.
He said since assumption in office barely 10 months ago his administration has embarked on massive campaign against political thuggery.
The governor noted that over two hundred political thugs, and phone thieves who have been apprehended by the Kano Command of the Nigeria Police have repented and were now useful to the society.
“No society will develop without the contribution of the youths, that’s why our administration is according much priority to the development of the youths, we’ve initiated different empowerment schemes for women geared towards making them self reliant ”
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf noted that among the priorities of his stewardship was enhancing health care service delivery, Education and infrastructure.
He said since his assumption health facilities within the metropolitan and other local government have been upgraded and provided with modern equipments for effective service delivery.
“The construction of the two gigantic modern flyovers in the metropolitan were ongoing, and our vision is to make Kano to be of the best commercial cities across the globe .
He added that his administration had constituted a committee that would investigate the wrong doings and misappropriation made by the immediate past administration with the aim of recovering the looted properties and public funds .
Earlier the Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero said they were at Government House to pay Homage to the Governor as it was the tradition of the Emirate for decades.
He lauded the commitment of the Kano State Government for providing laudable developmental projects that would uplift the well-being of the general populace.
Emir Bayero urged parents to expedite action in Monitoring the whereabouts of their children,geared towards curtailing the Menace of social vises and political thuggery.
The ceremony was graced by senior government officials and other stakeholders.
