FEDERAL MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT CALLS ON EMPLOYERS OF LABOUR TO PROMOTE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY, HEALTH AND WELL-BEING                                                                                       30-04-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment has called on employers of labour to promote occupational safety, health and well-being of workers in their various workplaces.

Occupational safety encompasses the physical, mental, and social well-being of workers, while preventing workplace-related hazards.

The Director, Occupation Safety of the Ministry, Mrs Lauretta Adogu stated this during a Roadshow in Abuja to mark this year’s World Day for Safety and Health.

Mrs Adogu urged Ministries, departments and agencies of government to give priority to the wellbeing of their workers to perform optimally.

Mrs Adogu explained that the provision of a conducive environment for workers remained a collective responsibility of both the employers and employees to ensure safety.

Some of the Workers at the event urged the government at all levels to prioritize their safety and provide a good working environment for optimal production.

Africa 247 Correspondent reports that medical check-up was conducted on some civil servants at the event to enable them know their health status.
