HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SUMMON NUHU RIBADU (NSA) OVER THE ESCAPE OF BINANCE EXECUTIVE’S                                                                                                              08-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The House of Representatives has summoned the National Security Adviser, NSA Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to appear before the House to explained the circumstances surrounding the escape of Binance Executives, a cryptocurrency exchange company,

In a motion of urgent Public Importance by Mr. Ifeanyi Okafor, a member representing Aguata Federal Constituency of Anambra State, said the escape of the Binance Executives from the Office of National Security Adviser was a National embarrassment.
The House noted that considering the alleged crime the cryptocurrency exchange company committed against Nigeria as a country was disturbing which calls for concern about the whereabouts of the Binance Executives that were initially arrested.
The House also resolved that the NSA should handover the investigation of the escape of the Binance Executive to Department of State Security DSS, as the NSA can not be a judge in his own case.
The motion was referred to relevant committees for further legislative inputs.
The senior executives of Binance were arrested in February when they flew into Nigeria following a ban on their website and reported to have escaped from the Office of the National Security Adviser where they were detained.
