PLATEAU STATE GOVERNOR COMMISSIONS 15 STATE OF THE ART METRO BUSES TOWARDS ALLEVIATING COST OF TRANSPORTATION                                                                           08-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 Fifteen Metro and Two Coaster buses have been launched for metropolitan transportation services in Plateau State.

The development is part of the Federal Government’s Infastructural Funds provided by the Federal Government and initiated by the Plateau State Government.

Following the removal of fuel subsidy, the Federal Government had provided the 36 State Governments with funds aimed at alleviating the suffering of the people

Inaugurating the buses, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State described the fifteen state of arts diesel engine 40-60 seater buses as part of government’s deliberate policy on ease of transportation for the people

Governor Mutfwang disclosed that the development has already created employment for One hundred and twenty People, with an additional one thousand jobs expected to be added soon.

Earlier, State Commissioner for Transportation, Davou Gyang noted that the present administration was working towards addressing all issues mitigating against effective transportation, including railway services.

Also speaking, General Manager of the Plateau Express Services, Mister Samuel Gwot Stressed the important need of transportation in the lives of the people and urged commuters to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the Government.

The buses nicknamed Tin City Metro Buses, are equipped with security features that can be used to monitor their movement.
