NASARAWA POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS 33 SUSPECTS FOR ALLEGED KIDNAPPING, DEFILEMENT AND IMPERSONATION                                                                                      09-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                             The State Commissioner of Police Mr Shehu Nadada stated this while parading the suspects in Lafia.

He explained that one of the suspects was the leader of a notorious gang that was involved in the October 2023 kidnap of seven students of the Federal University of Lafia.

Mr Nadada noted that the suspect, Shagari Ibrahim was cooperating with the police in disclosing the people behind the cases of kidnapping, especially around the university community and the surrounding Local Government areas of Doma, Obi and Keana.

The Police Commissioner also pointed out that three of the suspects who allegedly posed as EFCC operatives were apprehended for alleged armed robbery and abduction of a National Diploma student of the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa.

Mr Nadada further added that three suspects were also in the police net for allegedly defiling three girls ages between four and seven.

Items recovered from the suspects include firearms, two vehicles and a cash sum of one million Naira which was recovered from a suspected cattle rustler at a hotel in Lafia.
