AN AIRCRAFT OPERATED BY XEJET SKIDDED OFF THE RUNWAY OF THE DOMESTIC WING OF THE LAGOS AIRPORT                                                                                                            11-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                An aircraft operated by Xejet this morning at about 11.29am skidded off the runway of the domestic wing of the Lagos airport.

This is coming barely two weeks an aircraft operated by Dana air also experienced a similar incident which led to the suspension of the airline’s operations by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA.

According to investigation, the Xejet aircraft on landing from Abuja skidded off the runway into the grass verge.

The aircraft had 52-3 passengers onboard and fire and Rescue personnel on ground assisted in the evacuation of the passengers.

As at the time of this report, the runway has been closed to traffic.

Meanwhile, the National Safety Investigation Bureau, NSIB, says, it has been notified of the incident and has deployed its team of investigators to the site.
