GROUP PROTESTS FOR RELEASE OF KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN NIGERIA                                                                                           14-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                Six years after the Dapchi students kidnapped in Yobe state, concerned groups and individuals have continued to protest the non-release of Leah Sharibu calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prioritize the security of lives and properties above every other issue.
The Chief Executive Officer, Christian Solidarity World wide Reverend Yunusa Nnmadu stated this in Kaduna at a peaceful protest for the release of hundreds of people still in the hands of bandits in the country.
Reverend Yunusa Nnmadu said Nigeria will continue to protest the action of Government for not able to released those in captivity despite the fact that it is it’s responsibility to ensure the protection of lives and properties of citizens as stipulated in the constitution.

He therefore appealed for sincerity of purpose on the part of government and commitment towards the release of all persons in the hands of bandits in all nook and crannies of the country.
The State Secretary, Christian Association of Nigeria Evangelist Emmanuel Okunlola said the case of Leah Sharibu stands as a rallying point because all others kidnapped along with her have been released except her.
“These Girls and many other people that were kidnapped are children of some parents and we should consider this as a priority of government that the protection of lives is very essential for every government that is serious. That is why we are calling on the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces to expedite action for all the captives to be release. This protest will go to all the 19 states in the north so that action will be taken to make it clear that a nation without security cannot be developed.”

Some parents at the event, Mr. Reuben Buhari and Barrister Bavoshia Gloria Nyam said the feeling of parents whose children are in captivity is devastating and demoralizing calling on government to act without further delay for release of those in captivity.
Leah Sharibu was picked at the age of 14 in February 2018 along with 115 others. 5 died in the camp of the Kinappers while the rest were released except her and that happened because of her faith.
Reports says wthin the last 6 years she has gave birth to 3 children from 3 different fathers.
