POLICE OPERATIVES IN ANAMBRA STATE ARREST ONE OF THE MOST WANTED ARMED ROBBERS IN THE STATE                                                                                                               22-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                The Police Operatives in Anambra state have arrested one of the most wanted armed robbers in the state.

The operatives also recovered assailant operational vehicle, ammunition and other incriminating items.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga in a release, said the most wanted armed robber was equally a notorious and most wanted Cultist in Uruagu village, Oba, Idemili South Local government area of the state.

He explained that the suspect, Anichede Akachukwu, eighteen years old, popularly known as Star B was a Confessed leader of Vikings Secret Cult Confraternity and a member of armed gang terrorizing Ogbaru Local government area and Asaba in Delta State.

The Police Image Maker stated that his arrest followed a tip-off of intelligence gathered as he was receiving treatment in their den from a bullet wound sustained in their encounter with Police Operatives in Asaba.

He said the suspects had provided Police with information on their mode of Operations and names of other gang members which was already aiding the ongoing investigation.

In a related development, the Police command also recovered a white Porsche Cayenne Jeep with registration number AGL 60 HJ Lagos in Okija, Ihiala, suspected to be an operational vehicle of hoodlums operating in Ihiala.

Mr Ikenga said,during a search of the vehicle, the operatives found a bag and discovered Twenty-Seven pieces of live 7.62m ammunition, three live cartridges, one-touch light, charms, and other incriminating items.

Mr Ikenga said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Nnaghe Itam had charged the Operatives to sustain the tempo and intensify the on going operation aimed at weeding out all the criminal elements in the state and to reduce crime to the barest minimum.
