YOUTHS IN ONDO STATE PROTESTS THE STING OPERATION OF EFCC AT SOME NIGHT CLUBS IN AKURE                                                                                                                        09-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 Youths in Ondo State this morning protested the sting operation of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ,EFCC at some night clubs in Akure the state capital over the weekend.

The EFCC Ibadan Zonal Directorate had claimed responsibility for the arrest of 127 persons suspected to be internet fraudsters

The protesters who converged on First Bank area of the capital took their protest to Governor’s Office through Nepa roundabout.

One of the demonstrators, Mr Oluwaseun Ogunmola who spoke with newsmen demanded the release of those arrested and profiled as internet fraudsters unconditionally.

Another protester, Tobi Akinnubi condemned a situation where the commission sees everyone using expensive phones, laptops and cars as fraudsters saying this was pure brutality.

The protesters asked for justice and called on the Federal Government to look into this case.
