A HEAVY DOWNPOUR IN ZAMFARA SEVERELY DISRUPTS DAILY ACTIVITIES IN THE STATE CAPITAL, GUSAU                                                                                                                           02-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The torrential rain led to significant flooding, submerging several roads, farmlands and posing a threat to residences in the area. Many students and pupils were seen seeking shelter under roofs while others braved the heavy downpour to reach their classes. The flooding caused numerous cars to break down, further hindering movement.

In addition to transportation woes, the inclement weather forced the closure of shops and marketplaces. Traders locked up their shops, resulting in a temporary halt to commercial activities in the city.

The local authorities are yet to issue a statement regarding the situation, but residents are urged to exercise caution and avoid flooded areas.
