KWARA COMMAND OF NSCDC APPREHENDS 3 SUSPECTS INVOLVED IN THEFT, BURGLARY AND FRAUD                                                                                                                                 02-06-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has apprehended three suspects involved in various criminal activities, including theft, burglary, and fraud.

Detectives from the command’s tracking unit, on Monday arrested one Ibrahim Wasiu, a 31-year-old resident of Eyenkorin, Kwara State, following a report by a resident on several burglaries at his residence, where valuable items including a motorcycle, two Android phones, a home theatre system, and other household goods were stolen.

After thorough investigations, the suspect was apprehended, and all stolen items were successfully recovered.

In a related development, the command’s tracking unit apprehended a 33 year old man, Soliu Jimoh for stealing electrical cables and fittings from buildings under construction in Gaa Ajanaki area in Ilorin the State capital.

Upon his arrest, wires and tools used for operations were recovered.

Another suspect, Ganiyu Olalekan, a 38 year old man, was arrested for defrauding one Ibrahim Mustapha of the sum of 4.5 million Naira being payment for “Hajj slots” after the suspect portrayed himself as a senior staff of the Ministry of Finance and politician.

All the suspects have confessed to the crimes, and will be prosecuted once investigations are completed.

Meanwhile, NSCDC Kwara State Commandant, Dr. Umar Mohammed, has assured the public that the corps would not relent in its quest to combat criminality in the State.
