NIGERIAN ARMY ORGANISES PUBLIC SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT WITH SELECTED SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN KADUNA STATE                                                                             02-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The Nigerian Army has organised a public speaking engagement with some selected secondary schools in Kaduna, as part of activities lined up to celebrate this year’s Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL).

Addressing the Students at the Sardauna Memorial College, the General Officer Commanding One Division, Major General Landers Saraso said the event was organised to enlighten participants about the Nigerian Army.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Brigadier General David Nwakonobi, the GOC explained that the engagement was also aimed at influencing perceptions, attitudes, opinions, as well as behaviours of the targeted audience positively.

Major General Landers Saraso noted that the event aims at informing the students on the career opportunities in the Nigerian Army.

He commended the Chief of Army Staff for decentralizing the engagement to all divisions across the country, which according to him, would bring the Army closer to the civilians.

In his remarks, the Principal of Sardauna Memorial College, Malam Abdulrashid Aliyu expressed joy over hosting the event, adding that the engagement had further widened students’ horizon about the military profession.

Highpoints of the event were short talks on patriotism, an interactive session on the activities of the Nigerian Army, among others.

The participating schools include Sardauna Memorial College, Government Girls Secondary School Kawo, Government Secondary School Kawo and Rimi College.

The Nigerian Army was was established in the year 1863.
