CLIMATE CHANGE: STATE MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENT VISITS KANO                                                                                                 05-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                             The federal government says it is committed to working with the private sector to ensure the delivery of President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

The State Minister for Environment Dr Ishaq Adekunle Salako made the indication during the commissioning of Atmosphere Climate and Sustainability Limited.

According to him, as an experienced public official, the president understands that the private sector is key to the developmental agenda of government.

Dr. pointed out that the federal Ministry of Environment is passionate about promoting initiatives that align with the national priorities of the Tinubu led administration and global goals.

The minister explained that the company’s dedication to clean cooking solutions and sustainable energy aligns with the Ministry’s priorities and the national agenda for a cleaner and healthier environment.

“Your innovative approach and technology have the potential to transform lives and communities across Nigeria”

Kano state governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf represented by the state commissioner of Environment Alhaji Nasiru Sule Garo described climate change as a global issue, saying that any intervention to reduce the falling of trees would yield positive results.

He advised business owners to venture into anything that would mitigate climate change, adding that Kano state government, KNSG, would provide all the necessary support to achieve the desired objectives.

Earlier in his welcome address, the director of government relations atmosfare, Alhaji Abdurrahman Sulaiman Bawa maintained that their commitment to Nigeria goes beyond just manufacturing.

“We’ve conducted extensive sensitization campaigns in 9 states so far, reaching thousands of households. We have sold over 30,000 stoves, and we’re just getting started”

He noted that their belief in the power of collaboration led to engagements with research institutes to turn agricultural waste, into alternative fuel sources.

“Am here today representing Atmosfair, a German non-profit organization dedicated to actively mitigating CO2 emissions by promoting, developing, and financing renewable energy projects worldwide” Africa 247 reports that the minister earlier visited Burn manufacturing company Dawakin Kudu LGA to inspect facilities and interact with staff and management team.
