NIGERIA GOVERNOR’S FORUM REITERATES THEIR COMMITMENT TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH CARE OF ALL NIGERIANS                                                                                          25-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                    The 36 Governors under the platform of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum has reiterated their commitment to improve the health care of all Nigerians at various levels.

They made the commitment at end of the 9th meeting of the forum in Abuja.

In a communique at the end of the meeting by the chairman of the forum and Governor of Kwara state Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, says the resolution was made after a presentation of update from the Minister of Health and Social Welfare on the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Programme.

The National Security Adviser briefed the governors on the current security situation in the country on the planned protest and pledged to support the governors in improving the security architecture at the subnational level.

The Governors received a briefing from the body of Attorneys General of the 36 states on the Supreme Court ruling on the financial autonomy of local governments and the recent change of leadership from the Nigerian Bar Association and expressed their commitment to work with the State Governors in defending the nation’s democracy and the rule of law.

The new Country Director of the World Bank, Mr. Ndiame Diop, and his team also presented the programmes that are currently being implemented in the states, and assured the governors of their continued support and implementation in the country.
