NORTH WEST REPS URGE YOUTHS TO SHUN PROPOSED PROTEST, SALUTES PRESIDENT TINUBU’S ASSENT OF NWDC BILL                                                                                           27-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                       The House of Representatives members from the North Western part of Nigeria have joined other leaders to appealed to the people of the region not to join the planned Protest proposed for next month.
The North West Caucus of the House made plea in Abuja while at a media briefing to commend President Bola Tinubu for signing the North West Development Commission bill into law.
The Leader of the Caucus, Sada Soli, while appealing to the youth of the region to shun the proposed protest explained that the geopolitical zone had suffered enough disruption of their peace.
Mr. Soli called on the protesters to give governments at both the Federal and State levels more chance to look at the issues concerned.
The lawmakers commended President Bola Tinubu for the signing of the North West Development Commission bill into law saying it will ginger the economic and social development of the geopolitical zone and restore parity to a people who for years were forced to watch as their lands were ravaged by the violence of bandits and other miscreants.
The caucus however called on President Tinubu to help tackle insecurity that is crippling economic and farming activities in the zone.
The House of Representatives from the North West while thanking the sponsor of the bill, Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau and the House Speaker, Dr. Tajudeen Abbas and indeed all members of the North West Caucus in both chambers called for similar commitment on the part of those who would be saddled with managing the Commission to ensure that they worked diligently to realize the goals of the commission.
