EDO STATE GOVERNOR, MR GODWIN OBASEKI ADVISES PROTESTERS TO GO ABOUT THEIR PROTESTS PEACEFULLY                                                                                                 01-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 Edo state Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has advised Protesters to go about their protests peacefully.
Governor Obaseki stated this while addressing them ” End Hungry and End Bad governance protests at the Kings Square axis of Benin City, Edo state.
Governor Obaseki urged the Protesters not to attack businesses and Public facilities stressing he was ready to transmit their demands to president Bola Tinubu.
The Governor who noted that he was aware of the hardship in the country following the removal of fuel subsides noted he would assist in checkmating activities of Unions that led to hike in the prices of food stuffs in the state.
He also promised to assist in bringing down the prices of School fees and curtail the activities of motor Park touts which he said gave room to the hike in transportation fares among others.
The Governor also promised to deliver their messages to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu urging the federal government to reduce pump price of petrol, Open the Nation’s border for massive food importation, fix federal road, reduce the prices of Cement among others.
Earlier, one of the protesters, Comedian, Francis Agoda also known as ” I go dye” said they decided to protest to let Government at all levels know that Nigerians were suffering as there is so much hunger in the land.
