END BAD GOVERNANCE PROTEST PARALYZES 90% OF BUSINESS ACTIVITIES IN KADUNA METROPOLIS                                                                                                                               01-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 End bad governance protest has paralyzed about nine percent of business activities in Kaduna metropolis due Large number of the people that staged the protest.

Various groups of youths, men and women were seen on the major streets of Kaduna, carrying placards with various inscription expressing their grievances over the current economic hardship in the country.

Among the categories of people that staged the protest were old men and women, married women, children including people with disabilities.

Although the protest was peacefully in most of the major streets of Kaduna State while at the front of government house Kaduna, Policemen had fired teargas to disperse the protesters because of their large number.

Major markets, government offices, filling stations and other shops along the major streets were seen closed, Perticulerly along Ahmadu Bello way, the road linking to Government House, Gamagira Road, Tudun Wada Gidan Gayu among others.

Some of the protesters who spoke to Africa Kaduna said enough is enough with the current cost of food items in the country and has resulted to serious poverty.

They argued that, low earner incomes cannot afford two square miles per day not even three.

While other youths said they cannot afford to marry because of the current economic hardship.
