KADUNA STATE SECURITY COUNCIL IMPOSES 24 HOUR CURFEW ON KADUNA AND ZARIA METROPOLITAN CITIES 05-08-24
By Sadiq Aminu Kaduna State government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Kaduna, Zaria Metropolises and it environs with immediate effect.
The overseeing Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan announced this in a statement says the State Security Council under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani reviewed the security situation of the State following the ongoing protest.
According to the statement, there was sufficient evidences that clearly indicated that, the ongoing protest had been hijacked by criminal elements who have resorted to looting of shops and destruction of private and public property.
It says In view of the unfortunate development, Kaduna State Security Council unanimously resolved to impose the curfew in Kaduna, Zaria and its environs.
The statement advised citizens to remain indoors while security forces continue to work to maintain safety and security.
It maintained that, Monitoring will be sustained for review of the curfew as required.
