BAUCHI GOVERNMENT SIGNS MOU WITH RESIDENT CEMENT COMPANY                                                                                               08-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                    Bauchi Government has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a cement company with an annual capacity of producing ten million tons of cement.

The company with an investment of 1.5 billion dollars is to be constructed in Gwana District, Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.

The Cement Company will construct 100 megawatts electricity plant, a dam, 2,500 capacity truck parking space among others.

Speaking after signing of the document, Governor Bala Mohammed assured that the state would continue to provide enabling environment for investors to thrive.

Bala Mohammed also assured the company of his government resolve to prevent any incumbrances in the process of executing the project.

Earlier, the Group Chairman of Resistance Cement Company, Dr Abbas Junaidu Waziri said the company’s findings show that the site has enough deposit of the needed raw materials that would help it operate smoothly.

He informed that construction of the company would take off in the first quarter of 2025 and is to be inaugurated by the Governor in the next two years.

The State Commissioner, Natural Resources, Mohammed Maiwada Bello and the State Attorney General, Hassan El-Yakub signed the MoU on behalf of the state government while Dr. Abbas Junaidu Waziri signed for the company.
