PDP INAUGURATES 500-MEMBER CAMPAIGN COUNCIL FOR ONDO GUBER POLL                                                                                         13-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                As the November 16 governorship election in Ondo state draws nearer, the Peoples Democratic Party has inaugurated a 500-member campaign council for the poll.

The council is being chaired by a national vice chairman of the party, Dr Eddy Olafeso.

Speaking during the inauguration, the chairman, PDP National Campaign council for the election and Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke urged members to give the Party massive support during the November 16 gubernatorial poll.

Governor Adeleke who said the success of the party rested with the masses and not party leaders posited that the PDP was well prepared to win the governorship election in Ondo state.

He noted “there should be no thuggery. We will base our campaign on issues. The people will decide. Go back to your constituencies and preach the gospel of PDP to the people.”

Responding, the governorship candidate, Agboola Ajayi, expressed optimism that the party would come out of the poll victoriously.

According to Agboola “Ondo PDP is determined more than ever before to take over Alagbaka next year and that no stone would be left unturned to bring victory for the Party. Party leaders are necessary during the primary election of political parties, but the buck stops at the table of the electorate once candidates have emerged”.

Also speaking, the chairman of the newly inaugurated council, Dr Olafeso promised to take the campaign to the nooks and crannies of the state, saying the party was back to take the number one seat of the state.

“We are back and we are back better, we are ready to move and we will win the election,” Olafeso declared.
