By Sadiq Aminu                                                                The flooding, triggered by heavy rainfall on Friday, submerged scores of homes across the affected areas, leaving many residents in distress.

In a statement released on Saturday by his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Lawal expressed deep concern over the situation, acknowledging the hardship faced by those affected. “This is genuinely distressing, and my thoughts are with everyone affected,” the governor remarked.

Governor Dauda disclosed that he has been in continuous communication with local authorities and community leaders since the disaster occurred and he has already dispatched a delegation from the state government to Gummi to assess the damage for immediate relief to the victims.

Emphasizing his administration’s commitment to addressing the situation, Governor Lawal assured that all necessary steps would be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. He affirmed that the government would work tirelessly to provide the required support to those impacted by the flooding.
