DOCTORS THREATEN NATIONWIDE STRIKE OVER THE KIDNAP OF THEIR MEMBERS                                                                             20-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               The association of Resident Doctors Usmanu Danfodiyo Teaching Hospital Sokoto chapter has warned the federal government to ensure the rescue of Dr. Ganiyat Popoola from bandits to avert nationwide industrial strike by its members.

President of the Association Dr. Uzairu Abdullahi gave the warning while conducting a peaceful rally to express their concern in Sokoto state.

The president of the Association said FG must ensure the release of the kidnapped Doctor before the 26th of August to prevent a total shutdown of services.

He expressed concern that the abduction of the medical Doctor is raising concerns from across professionals and patriotic citizens of the country.

According to him, the disheartening circumstances and the government’s poor response would compelled the association to take the needed action.
