1000 WOMEN TRADERS IN DELTA STATE RECEIVE A GRANT OF N100,000 AND A MONEY WALLET UNDER THE RENEWED HOPE INITIATIVE 22-08-24
By Sadiq Aminu One thousand women petty traders in Delta State have been presented a grant of one hundred thousand naira and a money wallet each under the Renewed Hope Initiative of the Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
At the flag off of the economic empowerment programme of the Renewed Hope Initiative in Asaba, the Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu said a total of one billion, eight hundred and fifty million naira would be distributed to thirty seven thousand women petty traders across the country and that the ceremony was holding simultaneously in all the thirty six states and the federal capital territory.
While commending the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for supporting the Renewed Hope Initiative empowerment in the state with fifty million naira to match the fifty million naira Renewed Hope Initiative empowerment grants to Delta State, the Wife of the President, said the one thousand Delta women petty traders would be given one hundred thousand naira each, instead of fifty thousand naira.
She emphasized that the recapitalization grants provided would assist the petty traders in overcoming some of their business challenges, expand their businesses, create more jobs,and contribute more robustly to the nation’s economy.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu said, ” Economic empowerment remains a core objective of the Renewed Hope Initiative, and we have consistently delivered on this promise for both women and youths across the six geopolitical zones, to supporting the economic reforms of the administration of President Bola Tinubu”
She thanked the Renewed Hope Initiative state coordinators, and wives of State Governors for efforts made in identifying women petty traders.
The Wife of the President urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the grants by investing it to grow their businesses.
Wife of Delta State Governor, Mrs Tobore Oborevwori expressed gratitude to the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for the choice of Delta State for the flag off of the Renewed Hope Initiative economic empowerment Programme.
She applauded her commitment to the wellbeing of Nigerians through the Renewed Hope Initiative in agriculture, education, economic empowerment, social investment and healthcare.
Mrs Tobore Oborevwori said Delta State had benefitted from the initiatives especially in the distribution of notebooks, scholarship schemes for students, grants for the elderly, farmers and distribution of bags of rice to indigent women.
Beneficiaries were full of gratitude to the Wife of the President, assuring that they would use the grants received for the purpose they were given.
The ceremony was spiced up withState cultural troope.
On the ontourage of the President’s cultural performances by the Delta Wife were wives of the Service Chiefs.
