KEBBI FIRST LADY FLAGG OFF ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT TO 1000 WOMEN PETTY TRADERS                                                                                                                                       22-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               The Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir, has flagged off the economic grants of fifty thousand naira each to 1000 women petty traders under the Renewed Hope Initiative of the wife of the President, Senator Remi Bola Tinubu in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, the wife of the governor, who is also the state coordinator of Renewed Hope Initiative said, it has become inevitable giving the economic situation in the country to breath in life in petty women trades being affected by the economic downturn.

Represented by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Hajiya Maryam Umar Abubakar, thanked Senator Remi Tinubu for coming to the aid of 1000 petty trades in Kebbi state.

She saluted the resilience of the petty traders for staying put despite the economic challenges and urged them to make best use of the recapitalisation grants to sustain their petty trades as empowered women are the bedrock of economic survival of every nation or society.

Earlier, the State Commissioner for humanitarian affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Hamidu Jarkuka, described the flagg off as timely as it will go a long way in resustating petty trades of women in the state.

The recapitalisation grants for petty women traders seeks to cushion the multiplying effects of economic melt down in the country which has affected petty women trades across the country.

As part of efforts by Tinubu led administration to lift poor and vulnerable women out of poverty due to hardship, Nigeria’s first lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, flagged off economic grants of fifty thousand naira to 1000 women petty traders in Kebbi state.
