NASSARAWA STATE NNPP LAWMAKER DECAMPS TO APC 28-08-24
By Sadiq Aminu The member representing Toto/Gadabuke constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mohammad Garba Isimbabi has defected from New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP to All Progressives Congress APC..
Speaker of the Nasarawa state House of Assembly Danladi Jatau announced this while reading the defection letter of the member during plenary in Lafia.
According to the letter,Mohammad Isimbabi cited division in NNPP at the national level as the major reason of his defection to the APC..
Speaker Jatau commended the lawmaker for his bold step in joining the ruling APC in the State.
” I want to commend him for taken this very serious decision to join APC. His defection to the party is a welcome development to me as a leader of the House and to the ruling party..
His defection would add value to the APC”..
Chairman of APC in the State Alhaji Aliyu Bello who was at the Assembly complex to welcome the Lawmaker, commended Mohammad Isimbabi for the courage and described his decision to join the progressive party in the Country as the right one.
” Hon Isimbabi’s defection is very significant.This is the beauty of democracy because Honourable Isimbabi is our former member.”
” Honourable Isimbabi also joined the APC due to the massive development and progress made in the state by His Excellency, Governor. Abdullahi Sule ” he stressed. .
Aliyu Bello disclosed that five more lawmakers in the state Assembly from other political parties are also on their way to join APC in the State.
” Very soon, five lawmakers from other parties will join APC in the State” he said.
On his part, member representing Toto/Gadabuke constituency of Toto local government area in the Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Mohammad Garba Isimbabi noted that the division and crisis surrounding the NNPP at the National level made him to change party..
He however appreciated the NNPP for giving him the platform to actualise his political ambition into the State Assembly.
The lawmaker promised to continue to serve his people in order to improve on their standard of living.
” Before taking this decision to defect, I have gone round the six electoral wards of my constituency to consult with them on my defection and they gave me the go ahead to defect to APC” he said.
Honourable Isimbabi appreciated his constituents for the support and understanding and promised not to let them down, re-affirming his total commitment to deliver on his mandate..
Meanwhile the only remaining NNPP member representing Doma South constituency in the state House of assembly, Musa Ibrahim Abubakar congratulated his colleague for the decision and announced that he is also making consultations to join the APC soon..
In another development ,the Nasarawa state chairman of People’s Democratic party PDP, Francis Orogu has announced the defection of member representing Uke/Karshi constituency in the state House of assembly from the Social Democratic party SDP to the main opposition party the People’s Democratic party PDP..
Mr Orogu also expressed strong believe that more members of the state assembly from other political parties will soon decamp to the PDP in the state..
The state PDP chairman made the announcement in a chat with newsmen after a stakeholders meeting of the party in lafia..
As it stands at the moment in the Nasarawa state House of Assembly…APC has 11 members while PDP has 10, SDP 2 and NNPP is left with one member.
