HACKERS TAKE OVER KANO HISBAH BOARD’S FACEBOOK PAGE, PUBLISH EXPLICIT CONTENT                                                                                                                                        29-08-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The official Facebook page of the Kano State Hisbah Board has been compromised by hackers, leading to the publication of inappropriate and, in some instances, explicit content.

Reports indicate that the breach was discovered late Wednesday evening, with several posts containing disturbing material, including nude videos.

However, the incident has sparked widespread concern among residents and officials alike, raising questions about the security measures in place to protect sensitive online platforms.

In response to this, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, the Commander General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, stated that the Board is aware of the issue and that the ICT Department is working tirelessly to recover the page.

According to Daurawa: “The Kano State Hisbah Board is aware that its Facebook page has been hacked and is being used to spread inappropriate content. The Board is appealing to the community for assistance in addressing this issue.”

He added that the Hisbah Board is in discussions with Meta regarding the recovery of the page.

“We are currently in talks with Meta to recover the page and regain control. We urge the community to report the page to Meta in English to help prevent the intruders from publishing further inappropriate content. We also extend our gratitude to everyone who has shown concern and support.”
