3 SUSPECTS ARRESTED BY THE NSCDC COMMAND FOR ALLEGEDLY DEFILING A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL IN OFFA, KWARA STATE                                                                                  04-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               Three suspects: Adeleke Oke, 81; Sikiru Lawal, 37 and Moshood Ayinde, 37 have been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Command in Kwara State for allegedly defiling a 12 year old girl in offa, Kwara State.

The suspects, all male were apprehended on Sunday, September 1 2024, following a report lodged by the victim’s father at the NSCDC Offa Division.

The case was thereby, transferred to the Gender Unit of the command for further investigation.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the three suspects had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor on different occasions and threatened her not to open up to anyone about the illicit acts.

Furthermore, a detailed medical examination provided clear evidence of repeated sexual assault.

According to the spokesperson of the State Commandant, Mr. Michael Ayoola, the suspects confessed to the crime and would be charged to court for onward prosecution.

Meanwhile, the NSCDC Commandant in Kwara State Dr. Umar Mohammed, has condemned the despicable act, urging the good people of the state to partner the Corps in its efforts to combat defilement, rape, and other sexual offenses.
