PROTEST AGAINST HIKE IN PUMP PRICE PER LITRE OF PETROL ERUPTED THIS MORNING AT OLOJE COMMUNITY IN ILORIN WEST LGA                                                               04-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  Protest against hike in pump price per litre of petrol erupted this morning at Oloje community in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.

People trooped out en mass chanting anti Government songs and obstructing vehicular movement.

Our correspondent, Sadiq Aminu who witnessed the incident reports that some people were seen preventing operators of Keke NAPEP from carrying passengers.

As a result of the incident, commuters were stranded as some of them resorted to trekking down from Oko-Olowo to Omoda Area in the Ilorin metropolis.

Also our Correspondent Sadiq Aminu who witnessed a similar incident at Sango Area of the State reports that commuters were seen trekking on the road as tricycles and bus drivers were stopped to off load passengers.

Efforts by Africa247 correspondent to speak with the protesters was not successful as their leaders declined to grant interviews.
