SPEAKER URGES NIGERIAN YOUTHS TO PURSUE EXCELLENCE                                                                                                                   05-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The Speaker House of Representatives Dr. Tajudeen, has charged the Nigeria youths to always pursue excellence in their endeavours, while being patient in getting the rewards.
The Speaker gave the charge an interactive session with the 3rd Cohort of the Legislative Mentorship Initiative, LMI
Dr. Abbas who emphasized that the 10th House would continue to prioritise issues affecting the youth in the country, said the parliament would open more channels of communication with the youth for exchange of ideas to better their plights.

He encouraged Nigerian youths to pay attention to details and not be carried away by the euphoria of modern technology.
The speaker reiterated the commitment of the House to fostering an environment where young leaders can thrive.
The Speaker urged the young participants to take full advantage of the initiative by engaging actively with mentors.
He also said that his leadership was committed to ensuring an equitable representation for women in the political space of the country either through elections or appointment.
Dr Abbas explained that the ongoing constitution review would address discrimination against women, stressing that the House was working on to ensure that all women related bills that did not get favourable consideration during the 9th Assembly take front burner.
Dr. Abbas also announced an internship programme, where 20 of the LMI alumni would be attached to critical committees of the House for exposure and real-life experience on legislative activities.
