PDP REJECTS THE RESULT OF THE EDO STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION AS DECLARED BY THE INEC                                                                                                                                      24-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 The National Leadership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP has rejected the result of the just concluded, Edo State Governorship election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Addressing a news conference at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja, the Acting National Chairman of the party, Ambassador Umar Damagum alleged that the election was compromised by the All Progressive Congress APC in collusion with unpatriotic security operatives and some officials of INEC.

Ambassador Damagum claimed that, at the state collation centre, the APC manipulated and altered the results obtained from polling units which had clearly shown that the PDP candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo won the election.

The PDP leader however urged the people of Edo to trust in the ability of the judiciary to redress the allged rigging.

The APC has dismmised the PDP’s claims, describing them as bad losers.

According to the Edo state chairman of APC , Mr. Jaret Tenebe, the people of Edo state voted out the PDP due to the abysmal performance of Governor Godwin Obaseki.
