NAF REINFORCING IT’S CAPABILITIES TO THE NORTH WEST ZONE TO END INSURGENCY AND OTHER SECURITY CHALLENGES                                                                                     25-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                             The Nigerian Air force says it is reinforcing its military capabilities to the north west zone to end insurgency and other security challenges affecting the zone.

The chief of Air staff, air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to Sokoto state government office in the state.

Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar said the aim of the operational visit was to assess the 119 composite group at the Nigerian Air force unit in Sokoto in order to make well informed operational plans to counter bandits activities in the area.

He said the airforce is well aware of the security challenges affecting sokoto state stressing that the Nigerian Air force is committed to protecting lives and property of people in the area.

According to him, kinetic approach alone cannot end insurgency in the country.

He argued that lasting peace can only be achieved through comprehensive societal approach that integrate good governance, people oriented programs and projects for socio security and economic development.

Responding, the Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu sokoto assures continued commitment to rendering all necessary support and assistance required by the Nigerian Air Force in its operations to rid the state of Bandits

Represented by the state deputy governor, Alh. Idris Muhammad Gobir assured that government would not relent in its effort towards ensuring that peace is restored across the state.

The Deputy governor expressed satisfaction with the cordial working relationship existing between the state Government and all the security Agencies operating in the state .

Africa 247 correspondent report in Sokoto report that the Chief of Air Staff also supervised an ongoing project at the 119 Composite Unit in the state.
