NAAT THREATENS NATIONWIDE PROTEST OVER UNPAID FIVE AND HALF MONTHS WITHHELD SALARIES                                                                                                                   30-10-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                    The national Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) has threatened to embark on a nationwide protest over unpaid five and half months withheld salaries.

The President of the Union, Comrade, Ibeji Nwokoma made this known at a news briefing in Abuja.

Comrade Nwokoma explained that the union would commence nationwide protest after the expiration of the 14day ultimatum on 13th of November, 2024.

The Union had demanded for Non-payment of five and half months withheld salaries, refusal to release enabling circular for the implementation of CONTISS 14 & 15 for Academic Technologists, Non-conclusion of the FGN/ NAAT 2009 Agreement renegotiation.

Other demands are the Non-payment of the arrears of Earned Allowances for our members, Non-payment of arrears of minimum wage of omitted members for the period April 2019 to January, 2020 and poor funding of Public Universities.
