ARMY CHIEF ALLAYS FEARS OF NIGERIANS ON THE ALLEGED NEW TERRORISTS GROUP KNOWN AS LAKURAWA                                                                                                                10-11-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                The acting Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede says the Nigerian army will not allow any terrorists group to destabilised the peace and security structure of any part of Nigeria.

He stated this when he visited Tangaza local Government Area of sokoto state.

Lieutenant General Oluyede who was on his first operational tour as the acting chief of Army staff said his mission in the state was to assess the operational readiness of the troops.

The acting Chief of Army Staff appealed to the people of Sokoto State to support the ongoing drive to secure the country against foreign armed group locally known as Lakurawa who have the mission of killing innocent people and destroying their property for no just reason.

On his arrival, the COAS moved straight to Masallaci, a community in Tangaza local government Area which according to report is the enclave of the new terrorists group known as Lakurawa and met with the community leaders, including the Chairman of the local government area, Alhaji Isa Salihu Kalenjeni, seeking their support.

Africa247 report that the area perceived to be the terrorists hideout is twenty five kilometres to the Niger Republic.

The army chief was briefed by the General Officer Commanding 8 Division as well as Garrison Commander.

The Army Chief also visited Illela border community, where he was also briefed by the theater Commanders after which he solicited the support of the community members.
