INEC DISTRIBUTES SENSITIVE MATERIALS TO THE 18 LGAS OF ONDO STATE AHEAD OF THE SATURDAY NOVEMBER 16 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION                                                                                                                                       13-11-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has distributed sensitive materials to the 18 local government areas of Ondo State ahead the Saturday November 16 Governorship Election.

At the disbursement centre, the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Akure, INEC Electoral Officers in the 18 local government areas of Ondo State were on ground to receive the materials in the presence of political parties representatives.

Addressing journalists, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC in Ondo State, Mrs Oluwatoyin Babalola said the distributions became imperative in view of the need for those on difficult terrain to get there in time.

Mrs Babalola said measures have been put in place to cater for those in the riverine areas in collaboration with men of the Nigerian Navy, at the Naval Base Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government area of the state.

Materials distributed include Form EC8A, Results Sheets Form EC8A, Continuation Sheets, Form EC8C, Form EC8D, EC8E and Replacement forms.

Speaking on the distribution of the sensitive materials, Ondo State Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Ade Adetimehin described the exercise as well done as thoroughly distributed.

On his part, the State Chairman of Young Progressive Party, YPP, Mr Dotun Ojon expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the distribution of the sensitive materials.

The distribution of the materials was witnessed by INEC National Commissioners, including Prof. Kunle Ajayi, RECs from Lagos, Kwara and Anambra states and representatives of security agencies.

The sensitive materials were seen loaded into waiting vehicles for onward transportation to various destinations with the presence of heavy security personnel.
