YOBE STATE EMPOWERS 85 SHOEMAKERS WITH EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS TO BOOST ENTREPRENEURSHIP 15-11-24
By Sadiq Aminu In a significant boost to entrepreneurship and job creation,Yobe State Government has graduated a set of 85 trained Shoemakers in the State.
The program organized by the State Empowerment Initiative was aimed at equipping youths with the needed skills to avoid over dependence on government.
The State Governor Mai Mala Buni Represented by his Deputy Idi Barde Gubana lauded the beneficiaries for their dedication and urged them to utilize their newly acquired skills to build sustainable businesses and create jobs in their communities.
He called on wealthy Individuals in the country to build businesses that will assist the vulnerable and less privileged in their respective communities.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Commissioner, Yobe State Ministry for Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation, Aji Yerima Bularafa, reiterated government’s commitment to promoting self-reliance and reduce unemployment.
He emphasized that this initiative is part of Governor Buni’s broader vision to empower youth and stimulate economic growth in Yobe State.
“The present administration under Governor Buni has prioritized addressing unemployment and supporting businesses,” stated Commissioner Bularafa. “We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support from His Excellency, which has enabled this Ministry to effectively discharge its mandate and provide essential services to our citizens, particularly the vulnerable.
The beneficiaries of the training while expressing their gratitude to the state government promised to utilize the knowledge acquired for the benefit of the younger generation.
During a ceremony which took place at the Yobe State Art and Culture Centre in Damaturu, each beneficiary received a shoe sewing machine and other essential materials, courtesy of the Ministry for Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation.
