PDP IN ZAMFARA STATE CLEARS ALL THE 14 CHAIRMANSHIP SEATS IN SATURDAY’S LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION 17-11-24
By Sadiq Aminu The ruling People Democratic Party PDP in Zamfara State has cleared all the 14 chairmanship seats in Saturday’s local government election conducted by the State Independent Electoral Commission.
Announcing the results, the chairman of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission ZASIEC, Alhaji Bala Aliyu Gusau, said the election was conducted free, fair, credible and peaceful.
According to him, the challenges they encountered were resolved within short period of time especially issue of logistics and security as well as relocation of some voting units to more secured areas.
Alhaji Bala Aliyu Gusau commended the security agencies and stakeholders for making the election successful.
Similarly, immediately after announcing the results, the Chairman of the Commission issued certificates of return to the newly elected local government chairmen.
Speaking with newsmen, some of the elected local government chairmen commended the State Independent Electorate Commission for conducting credible election.
