GOVERNOR IDRIS ORDERS ARREST OF PERPETRATORS OF REPRISAL ATTACK ON FULANI COMMUNITY IN MERA                                                                                               19-11-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                    The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasiru Idris, has directed for the immediate arrest of those involved in the reprisal attack against the Fulani after the Mera attack by the terrorists group.

The Governor, who gave the directive while on condolence visit to Mera in Augie Local Government Area of the State, condemned the reprisal attack in which six Fulani were killed in the area.

The Governor stated that, it was wrong for individuals to take law into their hands and his administration would not condone the acts of jungle justice in the state.

According to him, any suspicions should be reported to the appropriate security authorities for immediate action instead of taking the law into their hands.

Governor Idris, however warned that, his administration has zero tolerance for banditry activities and would continue to support the security agencies to sustain the offensive and as well deal decisively with any persons serving as informants to bandits in the state.

The attack was launched against the Fulani that were suspected to be involved in the Mera attack in which 17 people were killed by the terrorists group.
