FRSC ATTRIBUTES LOW NUMBER OF ROAD ACCIDENTS IN THE COUNTRY TO STRICT ENFORCEMENT OF TRAFFIC LAWS                                                                                          27-12-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC has attributed the low number of road accidents in the last one week across the country to strict enforcement of traffic laws and the commitment of personnel in the ongoing end of the year special operations.

The Corps Marshal Mallam Shehu Mohammed while Speaking with news men in Abuja about the ongoing special monitoring exercise across some states in the North Central, South South and Asaba – Onitsha inter change of Niger Bridge said the corps increased its visibility at the identified Fifty Three high volume traffic corridors to check the excesses of motorists.

He however, expressed concerns over indescrimate parking of trailers and other articulated vehicles along Obajana -Kaba and Auchi -Okepella express ways in Edo and Kogi States which he said slow down traffic flow.

The Corps Marshal stressed the need for communities and other local authorities to preach against road side commercial activities which poses high risk to their lives Incase of emergency.

He commended the contibutions of major stakeholders and security agencies for the success recorded so far pledging that the Corps would ensure that no traveller sleep or pass through unnecessary difficulties on the roads in all the state of the federation.

The FRSC Boss assured that the Corps would continue to senzitize Road users on good driving culture and maintain zero road accident target in this year’s end of the year special patrol
