HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES RECOMMENDS REPLACEMENT OF HEADS OF MDAS THAT FAIL TO HONOR NASS INVITATION                                                                                           13-01-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The House of Representatives has recommended the replacement of Heads of Government Ministries Departments and Agencies that Consistently failed to honor National Assembly invitation.
This recommendation by the House of Representatives followed the failure of the Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of Immigration Kemi Nanna Nandap and other Heads of Government to appear before House Committee on Customs and Excise
Before the suspension of the Hearing, a member of the Committee, the member representing Andoni-Opobo Nkoro of Rivers State, Dr. Awaji-Inombe Abiante, while recommending for the replacement of Heads of MDAs who failed to honor National Assembly invitation, pointed out that their failure to appear before the National Assembly is a clear indication that they are tired of the assignments given to them by the President Bola Tinubu.

The Chairman House Committee on Customs and Excise Mr. Leke Abejide, while frowning at the attitudes exhibited by the Head of Agencies invited for the Investigative hearing, suspended the hearing indefinitely and insisted that the heads of the concern agencies must appear in person.

The Investigative hearing was on the need to investigate the modernisation Project of the Nigeria Customs Service (E-Customs) concessioned to the trade modernisation Project and the role of Webb Fontaine in the E-Customs Initiative.
The hearing was also on the need to employ the use of modern technology to secure the nation’s border.
