GOVERNOR SOLUDO OF ANAMBRA SAYS HE WILL UPHOLD THE COMMITMENT AND SACRIFICES OF THE NIGERIAN ARMED FORCES 16-01-25
By Sadiq Aminu Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State says he will continue to uphold the commitment and sacrifices of the Nigerian Armed Forces for the supreme sacrifice they pay in maintaining the peace and unity of the nation.
This came to the fore at the 2025 Armed Forces and Remembrance Day celebration held in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
Governor Soludo had on arrival in the company of the Parade Commander inspected a parade mounted by the Army, Navy, Airforce and the Nigerian Legion.
Governor Soludo commended the Nigerian Armed Forces, who have continued to protect the territorial integrity of the country through their sacrifices, even as he noted that Anambra State had benefited immensely in their efforts at restoring peace.

According to Governor Soludo, the ceremony for the nation’s fallen heroes and war veterans was an opportunity to reassure the people of government’s unflinching determination to continue to guarantee peace and safety across Nigeria and Anambra State in particular, in spite of the country’s security challenges.
The Anambra State Governor while calling for collective action from citizens in curbing the menace of crime, hinted that the official unveiling of a new comprehensive security architecture to fight and unravel criminals in a sustainable manner by this week Saturday.
He also expressed optimism that the Anambra State House of Assembly would expedite the passage of a new law on Homeland security of Anambra State so as to have a legal framework in prosecuting criminals who perpetrate crimes in the area.
Also speaking, the State Executive Chairman, Nigerian Legion, Anambra State Council, Major Benneth Agbogu, urged both the Federal and state governments to do more for the welfare of ex-service men in the country.
High points of the event included the wreath laying at the feet of the unknown soldier, 21 gun salute and symbolic release of pigeons by the Governor.
