KANO STATE JOINS THE NATION IN COMMEMORATING ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY                                                                                                                    15-01-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has urged Nigerians to support the Armed Forces and contribute generously to assist families of fallen heroes and retirees.

The Governor disclosed this during the laying wreath ceremony held at armed forces square Zaria road, kano.

Represented by his deputy Comrade Abdulsalam gwarzo,the governor described the armed forces as the epitome of patriotism, assuring that their sacrifices would not be in vain.

He commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their selfless service to the nation, despite hostilities.

Yusuf also assured the Armed Forces of the state government’s positive interventions for their families, officers, and men

The event was attended by representatives of the Armed Forces, members of the Nigerian Legion, widows of fallen heroes, government officials, and members of the public.

Veterans who attended the event thanked God for being alive to celebrate another Armed Forces Remembrance Day and called for lump sum payment of their retirement benefits.

The event featured a ceremonial laying of wreath in honor of fallen heroes, a three-gunshot salute, and the symbolic release of pigeons to signify peace and unity.
