The arrest follows a deadly robbery attack on the Ngalda Market, which resulted in the deaths of seven people and injuries to eleven others.

According to Police Public Relations Officer SP Dungus Abdulkarim, a locally made pistol and three cartridges were recovered during the arrest.

Abdulkarim noted that local youths mobilized and neutralized three of the attackers, while three others escaped with injuries.

State Commissioner of Police, Garba Ahmed, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.

He urged for calm and requested public assistance in identifying and apprehending the remaining members of the group, who fled with approximately N16,500,000.

The arrest of the suspected kingpin is considered a significant step in the police’s ongoing efforts to combat banditry and improve public safety in Yobe State.
