FRSC TO STRENGTHEN COLLABORATION WITH PETROLEUM TANKERS DRIVERS, A BRANCH OF THE NUPENG WORKERS TO CHECK                                                                                                                                            29-01-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC is to strengthen its collaboration with Petroleum Tankers Drivers, a branch of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers to check incessant tanker accidents on Nigeria Roads.

The Corps Marshal Mallam Shehu Mohammed who stated this while on a visit to the National Chairman of PTD NUPENG, Comrade Augustine Egbon in Abuja expressed worry over the incessant Crashes involving petroleum tankers that claimed many lives and destroyed property worth billions of Naira .

He said the FRSC was aware that most crashes that happened involved independent tanker owners and drivers who are not affiliated to any association or union.

He stressed the need for the, PTD NUPENG and FRSC to revive tge ‘Safe Load Scheme’ which empowers the Corps on Pre Loading and Post Loading inspections.

He appealed to PTD NUPENG to place more emphasis on training and retraining of members for efficient service delivery.

Mallam Shehu Mohammed believes that working together with stakeholders would assist FRSC in achieving its mandate on reducing road crashes and creating a safe motoring environment.

Responding National Chairman PTD NUPENG Comrade Augustine Egbon assured that the Union would continue to build the capacity of members on safe delivery of petroleum products.

Comrade Augustine Egbon appealed to the government at all levels to find solution to the state of Nigeria Roads.

He assured that the Union was ready at all times to support FRSC in bringing sanity to Nigerian Roads.

Also speaking, National Trustee of PTD NUPENG Comrade Salimon Oladiti assured that more collaboration between the two Organizations would enhance their relationship and bring effective Traffic management in the country.
