FEDERAL MINISTRY OF WORKS EMBARKS ON CONSTRUCTION, REHABILITATION AND RESCOPING OF 14 ROADS PROJECTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY 06-02-25
By Sadiq Aminu The Federal Ministry of Works is to embark on the construction, rehabilitation, and rescpoing of 14 road projects across the country.
This followed the approval given to the Ministry to that effect by the Federal Executive Council, FEC.
The projects, which the government considers as critical, will cost 242.68 billion Naira.
While briefing State House correspondents on the details of the approval, the Minister, Senator David Umahi, gave a list of the roads affected.
“The Agaie-Katcha-Baro Road, Niger State, Odukpani Junction, starting from Calabar-Ikom-Ogoja Road, Cross River State, Abeokuta-Ajibo Road and Iyana Mosa Road, Ogun State, Abaji Section of Ibaji-Odulu-Ajibu Road, Anambra State”.
He also gave a run-down of the others.
“The Umuahia-Ituano-Ikot Ekpene Road, Umuahia Umudike Section Kaduna-Jos Road (Phase One), Kaduna and Plateau States, Yola-Fufure Road, Adamawa State, Ijebu-Ibutita Ebe Road, Ogun State, and Lamido Road, Taraba State”.
Senator Umahi listed the rest of the projects.
“The Nkomoro-Isu Road, Enugu and Ebonyi States, Aba-Owerri Road Dualization by Ikot Ekpene Border, Gashua-Bayamari Road (Section Two), Yobe State, Ikorodu-Shagamu Road (Phase One of Lagos-Ibadan Road) and the Remaining Sections of Lagos-Ibadan Road”.
He, however, warned that companies, which fail to deliver their projects accordingly, will have their contracts terminated.
