By Sadiq Aminu                                                    The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has launched an investigation into a massive land scam worth N20 billion in different part of the state.

The commission’s chairman, Muhuyi RiminGado made the disclosure while briefing newsmen at the commission headquarters in Kano.

He said no fewer than 15 suspects have been arrested, including the Registrar of the Kano State High Court, three lawyers, and four officials from the ministry of lands.

Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado explained that a serving High Court Registrar, a former Deputy sheriff, and a court bailiff were among those arrested in connection with the land scam.

“The suspects allegedly attempted to bribe state security service personel with N2 million, but their offer was rejected,” RiminGado said.

He commended the Chief Judge of Kano State, Justice Dije Aboki for her support and cooperation.

RiminGado also commended Governor Yusuf for giving them a marching order to go after anyone involved in the scam, and for promising not to spare anyone found guilty, regardless of their position in the state.
