NECO BLACKLISTS 14 CENTRES FOR INVOLVEMENT IN WHOLE CENTRES MALPRACTICE IN 9 SUBJECTS                                                                               14-02-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                        The National Examinations Council, NECO has blacklisted fourteen Centres for involvement in whole Centre malpractice in Nine Subjects.

The Registrar of the Council Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi made this known while releasing the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination SSCE External at the Headquarters of the Council in Minna, Niger State

The Fourteen Centres are, Ten in Ogun and Four in Oyo states.

Also, seven Supervisors two each in Ogun and Oyo and One each in Lagos, Cross River and Ebonyi states are recommended for blacklisting for poor supervision lateness and siding and abetting malpractice.

Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi also said there has been a steady decline in malpractice as over six thousand candidates were booked as against over eight thousand Five hundred caught in same examination in 2023.

On the number of candidates for the 2024 External SSCE, the NECO Registrar said over Eighty Six thousand candidates registered with male accounting for fifty two while females constitute about forty Eight percent respectively.

According Professor Wushishi Twenty nine courses were examined in the exercise.

Professor Dantani Wushishi explained that more than fifty seven thousand got five credits and above in English language and above representing Sixty Three percent.

The Council Registrar appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Ministry of Education and staff of the Council for their unflinching support.
