HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES URGES FG TO ADDRESS RITUAL KILLINGS IN NIGERIA 18-02-25

The Green Chamber also urged the National Judicial Council to designate special Divisions within existing
Courts to handle cases of homicide, femicide and related cases.
In recent times there has been reported cases of killings especially for ritual and other purposes among young people.
This indiscriminate killing had continued to cause panic among the citizens.
Worried by this heinous act being perpetrated by criminals, the House in a motion sponsored by Dr. Awaji-Inombek Abiante a member representing Andoni-Opobo Nkoro Federal Constituency of Rivers State and three others, urged law enforcement agencies to prioritize homicide investigations and ensure thorough prosecution of offenders
In his contribution a member representing Orinyowan inhowonde Federal Constituency of Edo State Billy Osawaru, pointed that women are now endangered species.
To Abdulhakeem Ado, a member representing Wudil Garko Federal Constituency of Kano State, lack of deligent Prosecution of offenders was responsible for continuous killings
The House during Plenary also called on Independent National Electoral Commission to Conduct Bye–Elections for Vacant Seats in the National and State Assemblies.
