FG TRAINS 200 YOUTHS IN ANAMBRA STATE IN DIFFERENT AGRICULTURAL SECTORS, UNDER IT’S RENEWED HOPE INITIATIVE 21-02-25
By Sadiq Aminu. The Federal Government has trained two hundred youths in Anambra state in different Agricultural sectors, under its Renewed Hope Initiative Agricultural programmes.
The Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu while addressing the trainees in Mgbakwu in Awka North Local Government Area, said the Initiative was aimed at ensuring better life for families and guaranteeing food security for the nation.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu who was represented by the Wife of the Anambra state Governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo, promised that the farmers would be empowered after they had gone through the training process.
She explained that the two hundred farmers were carefullly selected from the twenty one Local government Areas of the state and are expected to also train others in the future after they have been empowered.
The Wife of the president encouraged the participants and the entire residents to embrace farming to boost food security in the country.
In a remark, the Acting Rector Anambra state Polytechnic, Mgbakwu, venue of the training, Doctor Njideka Chiekezie commended the wife of the president for the efforts being made to enhance agriculture.
She noted that the commitment is aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural practices , enhancing food security and encouraging organic farming in the area.
Some of the trainees, including Sir Obiora Anowia from Awka North, Kenechukwu Egwuatu from Anambra West thanked the Federal government for putting up the programme which they said have opened them up to greater technical knowledge needed in farming.
Africa247 Correspondent reports that the four key sectors of the Renewed Hope Initiative Agricultural programme training included Vegetable farming, Piggery, Poultry farming and Irrigation.
